BIOGRAPHY
Shayan is a law student at Benson Percival Brown LLP, where he supports litigation teams in insurance defence, personal injury, and regulatory matters. Known for his diligence, strong analytical skills, and approachable manner, he contributes legal research, drafting, and case preparation that strengthen client-focused advocacy.
Shayan earned his Juris Doctor at Osgoode Hall Law School, where he pursued the Litigation, Dispute Resolution and the Administration of Justice stream. He also holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Psychology from York University, graduating summa cum laude in 2022 with the highest cumulative GPA in his program. His academic achievements reflect the same integrity and rigour that guide his developing legal practice.
During law school, Shayan honed his advocacy skills through mooting, mock trials, and practicums. He gained practical experience by volunteering with the Community and Legal Aid Services Program (CLASP) and the Community Legal Clinic of York Region (CLCYR), providing support to clients navigating complex legal challenges. These experiences reinforced his interest in litigation and his commitment to ensuring clarity and accessibility in legal processes.
Shayan’s dedication to advocacy is rooted in early exposure to alternative dispute resolution, having grown up observing his mother’s work mediating insurance files. This perspective continues to shape his thoughtful, client-centred approach to litigation.
Beyond the law, Shayan is an avid sports fan and active competitor. He enjoys playing tennis and pickleball and follows basketball, hockey, and soccer closely, proudly supporting the Toronto Raptors, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Chelsea FC. He also finds balance through music, which remains a longstanding personal interest.
