BIOGRAPHY
Kevin Bridel is a results-focused litigator known for his reasoned advocacy, client-first mindset, and thoughtful approach to complex insurance defence matters. A partner at Benson Percival Brown LLP since 2020, Kevin maintains a broad civil litigation practice with particular experience in motor vehicle liability, personal injury, occupiers’ liability, product liability, professional negligence, property damage, and WSIB matters. He also represents clients in select proceedings before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, particularly where insurance coverage is engaged.
Kevin regularly appears before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, and Court of Appeal, as well as administrative bodies including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal. He was junior counsel in the landmark Supreme Court of Canada decision Rankin’s Garage & Sales v. J.J., which reaffirms the basic principles upon which tort law in Canada are premised. The matter marked a rare appearance for civil litigants before the Supreme Court, and the successful outcome underscored Kevin’s strategic capability in high-stakes litigation.
