BIOGRAPHY
Alycia Young is a strategic and pragmatic litigator with a practice focused on insurance defence, particularly in personal injury and property damage. Clients and colleagues know her as an attentive listener and problem-solver who provides clear, action-oriented legal guidance tailored to each client’s goals.
Alycia’s personal injury work includes motor vehicle accident and slip-and-fall claims, while her property damage practice covers complex issues such as product liability, fires, and construction deficiencies. She is skilled at navigating the Rules of Civil Procedure to achieve timely, cost-effective outcomes.
Two notable matters in her practice include a Court of Appeal jurisdictional decision in a product liability case and a Superior Court endorsement dismissing an action and enforcing a settlement agreement at a case conference—both examples of her precision and legal agility.
Alycia’s approach is collaborative and results-driven. She weighs litigation strategy against client priorities and tailors her recommendations accordingly—whether the file calls for early resolution or aggressive advocacy.
Before law school, Alycia worked in municipal politics, contributing to a successful mayoral campaign and supporting a Toronto City Councillor. She articled with the Crown Attorney’s office and ran trials in the Ontario Court of Justice before shifting fully to civil litigation.
Alycia is a long-time supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities, having served on its Young Professionals Committee and as a volunteer.
A devoted Toronto sports fan, Alycia enjoys hockey, baseball, and basketball, particularly cheering on the Leafs and Blue Jays.
