It is with great sadness that we announce the recent passing of Jo-Anne Hebert.

Jo-Anne was many things to many people – a longtime colleague and friend, a mentor, and a coach.

Jo-Anne joined Benson Percival Brown LLP as a legal assistant to Barry Percival. She quickly became an essential member of our firm, eventually becoming the Director of Operations over her thirty-plus year career.

It is often said she wore “many hats” and had her finger on the pulse of every aspect of daily life at BPB. Her leadership and guidance helped shape the firm’s culture, and she was respected not only for her sharp mind and organizational skill but also for her kindness, mentorship, and steady presence.

Outside of her career, Joanne was a devoted partner to Andy and mother to Nathan. Together they were a supportive and loving family.

Jo-Anne was also a passionate and beloved volleyball coach with EVP Canada. She began working with the organization as the parent of a player, eventually joining as an assistant coach and ultimately a full coach with her own dedicated team. Whether on the court or off, she inspired hundreds of young athletes with her enthusiasm, patience, and passion for the sport, helping lead teams to provincial tournaments and victories.

She will be remembered most for her generous spirit, strength, her easy laugh, and the deep care she showed for others. Her colleagues mourn her loss and celebrate the remarkable life she led.

We hold her family, friends, loved ones, and her young athletes in our thoughts and hearts through this very difficult time.
