BIOGRAPHY
Jiku Elamathail is a senior litigator and trusted advisor with extensive experience in insurance defence and construction litigation. A partner at BPB LLP since 2014, Jiku leads files involving motor vehicle accidents, occupiers’ liability, and commercial general liability (CGL), with particular expertise in complex construction deficiency claims and delay-related claims
His practice also includes subrogated property loss claims and past representation of professional clients, such as home inspectors, in residential property litigation. Jiku is recognized for delivering pragmatic, results-driven legal strategies that are grounded in responsive client service and clear communication.
Among his notable matters, Jiku secured a threshold trial victory in a Bill 198 motor vehicle claim and successfully defended judicial review of a vexatious litigant designation at the Ontario Divisional Court.
Jiku’s leadership extends beyond the courtroom. He serves as BPB LLP’s articling principal, overseeing student recruitment, onboarding, and mentorship. Widely regarded as a team player and firm resource, he is actively involved in supporting junior lawyers and fostering internal collaboration. He is a member of the Ontario Bar Association and the Interior Bar Association.
